If anyone here has suffered as big a headache as I have over the new update to the eBay mobile app, you can follow these steps to reinstall the former version to your phone.
For Android users
1. Uninstall current awful eBay app 2. Google search "old eBay app" and tap on the first website (http://app-oficial-de-ebay.en.uptodown.com/android/old) 3. Select the version on the right-hand side, version 3.0.0.19 (the last version before the new monstrosity) 4. Download and install *you may need to change in your security settings the ability to install apps from unknown sources* *also, I ran this through my phones security app before installing and it was found to be safe* 5. Go to your Play Store home page 6. Click Apps 7. Tap the top left menu, then select My Apps 8. Under your Installed list, find the newly downloaded eBay app, select it 9. Bring up the menu by tapping your bottom left pad (left of the phone home button) *for me the menu was at the top right corner of the screen (I have an HTC)* 10. Uncheck Auto-Update
I found the complete overhaul in the latest update to be absolutely horrendous. It's difficult to navigate, with all of the features seeming too large for a mobile format. Half of my saved searches were deleted and the half that remained had their settings messed with. So until I found these instructions someone posted in the eBay community forums, I was missing out on listings for the past few days. I'm so relieved to have the prior version back.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't had any major issues aside from getting used to the newness. I'm on an iPhone though.

I've got mixed feelings. Yes, everything is way too big and spaced-out as if this were the Jitterbug edition or something. One of my followed searches was missing that I noticed, and I'm not even sure how to change the notification settings on them. For a bit right before the update, it had stopped allowing me to change those, and come to think of it, I NEVER get the notifications anyway. So I've just been checking the results two or three times a day. The list of tabs for searching, following, watching, buying, and selling are okay, I guess. It was probably better when you could just go to "My eBay" and have the watching/buying/selling lists. I DO like that the tabs are no longer along the bottom, though, because too many times you'd apparently accidentally touch "search" instead of "watch," which would remove you from where you were in the browsing, and not allow you back into the same set of new listings. But I still wish there were a way to click "watch" from the search list. Eta: It doesn't even tell you how many items are on the watchlist?! Okay, what were they thinking? Every time something gets a major update, they improve certain things and screw up others... ?

Now the eBay app's driving me crazy. It keeps adding refinements to my search without me telling it to. So instead of showing me ALL results, it's showing me "other preschool & pretend play" results, and I have to switch it every. single. time. Annoying.

It's got problems. You touch an item and then return to the list, and instead of being the same list of new results, it's the full list of thousands--not even ranked by time added. So your search is completely ruined. That's been happening every single time for the past few days.

Oh man, I kind of forgot that this happened. It was certainly a nightmare to deal with for the 4 or 5 days that I had the update installed.
I had the same problems. The refinements to my searches were messed with and would never save when I tried to correct them. And when you view results in a particular search, they aren't in order by time listed. Instead most of what you see seem to be recommended or sponsored results. No thank you!!
I uninstalled that mess and got the previous trusty, no frills version back and I've been happily eBaying ever since.

I'm not sure how to revert to a previous version...just hoping to soon see an update that says "Bug fixes!"
Eta: Okay, yeah, it's horrible. As you scroll through your results in a search (especially my largest one; that's where it happens), suddenly it goes from being just your new ones as it's supposed to be, to ALL of them. Or maybe it's just automatically like that, because now you don't even need to touch one and go back. All of my hate, eBay......

Shoot. Unfortunately I'm not much help there since I've never used Apple products.
I did see one suggestion in my initial search that said if you had downloaded the newest app version directly on your phone and not through iTunes, that the previous version should still be available in your iTunes. So you'd just need to uninstall the current one and reload the old one from there. I'm not sure if that helps at all. I am so not tech savvy.
I'll keep looking, but I would guess the answer is somewhere in the eBay community forums. Try Google searching "old ebay app iphone". Most of the results are from the forums and hopefully one of them has clear cut steps like I found for android users. With the tens of thousands of people who were unhappy with the change, someone has to have figured it out.

Here's a step by step of downgrading apps on an iphone. The article is a couple years old, but it was referenced on an eBay community forum in regards to the eBay app, so I'm assuming the info is still good. www.iphonefaq.org/archives/971543

Thank you so very much, Kate! Boy...I could not be described as "tech-savvy," either. Such instructions tend to make me assume I'd end up deleting everything off my phone in my attempt to follow them. >< Very recently I had an app delete all of its files irretrievably just because it "updated"; that infuriated me to no end. But, I could give it a shot and stop if something seems to be going wrong, I suppose! Thank you again. And fortunately my watchlist is much smaller right now because I took advantage of a 20% off/free shipping combo offer from Hasbro today. :3

Now the app is saying my session has expired, and when I try to log back in it tells me an unknown error has occurred. I know my password is right because I tried logging in on my laptop and it was fine. Arrrggh. Anyone else experiencing this?
Edit: it's fixed, I'll settle down now.

Mine did that today...it does it every so often and I wonder if its something to do with the developers fixing the app?

Mine was doing the same thing the other day, even though I'm on the previous version. It said my session was expired, I'd sign in, and five seconds later it would kick me out again and say session expired. It did this four times in a row so I finally gave up and left it alone. When I came back to it a few hours later it was fine. clover, did you have any luck with downgrading the app on your iPhone?
