I've finally got round to repainting some of my duplicates on Saturday, but it's taken me until now to get decent photos of them due to lighting difficulties.
Some of them I've only editted slightly, adding some markings to the original model. I'll feature them first. Sorry if the photos are big: I don't know how to resize them here.
I gave this cat pink paw pads, inner ears and a pink nose, and repainted his left eye blue to make him an odd-eyed white. It was really difficult to repaint such small eyes, especially as I don't have a paintbrush small enough. I eventually ended up using a cocktail/tooth pick to do the eye and the black pupil. The eyes, nose and paw pads were then glossed with clear nail varnish. I named him after the video game Portal, because his eyes are the colour of the portals in the game.
This cat started out white and I merely added orange and black patches to turn her into a tortoiseshell/calico. I also added pinking to the nose. Again, eyes and nose glossed.
Same here; added the white markings and pink nose. The white was built up using about 3 or 4 layers of watered down paint, otherwise the thick, out of the bottle paint fills in all the grooves of the model and you lose fine details in the mould. Nose and eyes glossed.
Another one with white markings added. I also gave her a black nose, and glossed the eyes, nose and tongue to give them a 'wet' look.
This pony I turned into a more traditional Fjord by adding dark brown to the inner hairs on the mane and tail. It's actually moulded to include a distinction between the inner and outer layers of hair, but for some reason they chose to paint it all white. I've also given him a brown dorsal stripe, and glossed his eyes.
Now these 2 are totally repainted.
I've had the idea for this pony for some time now. I've turned her into a chestnut with 4 white stockings (leg markings) and a white star on her face. I've also reapinted her rosette green, to complement the orange of the body. I left the eyes unpainted, since I found them so difficult to paint on the cat. I then glossed the eyes, nostrils and hooves, and sprayed with matte finish to seal.
And finally there's this pony. She's painted black, with a white stripe on her face and a white stocking on her raised leg. The hoof on that leg has been painted pink, and I've glossed her hooves, nostrils and eyes, and sealed with matte spray.
I've taken more photos of them all from various angles, and beside their original body doubles, which you can find here on my Flickr account. Hopefully i'll get the chance to paint some more soon.
