Who's rare and who's common? Are there any lines that are more rare than others? Generally, what are these worth to collectors? Rare and common, including playsets.
Also does anyone have a website or anything that can tell me which pieces go where for the mom and baby sets and wildlife sets?

The most common and easiest to find are the first two series (1-23 and 24-50) plus the first set of mom and babies (51-54). The third series (55-74) was not released in the United States as far as I know, so they are slightly harder to find here, although though eBay they certainly aren't hard to find either. Mom and babies 75-80 become yet a little harder to find. 81+ are probably the hardest to find, some easier than others.
The very rarest, as far as I know, are 102, and the third babies that came with families 79 and 80 in Canada. (See Piddy's collection to see pics). There are some color variations that are quite rare as well.
IMP, as far as I know, isn't a sought after line outside of our own collectors. I really have no idea what they're worth, and I am curious if anyone has ever gotten them appraised. Personally, I think they have more sentimental value than monetary, so I always price mine super cheap. (50 cents for regular puppies, $1 for moms, $0.25 for cards and babies, no matter what their rarity.) For me, collecting isn't about money, but more about having fun.
EDIT: I should add that these are only for Puppies. Puppies are the most common and have the largest number of sets. I don't really know anything about the other lines, sorry!
Under the useful links thread, check out Piddy's collection of Baby Surprise, I think he might have pics of the full sets there.
