Name/Screenname: Jenna What you collect: Puppy in my Pocket and Topps Precious Puppies (I'm also somewhat interested in vintage Littlest Pet Shop dogs) How long you've been collecting: I've been collecting since I was 5 or 6, and stopped when Puppy in my Pocket was no longer sold in the United States. I restarted a couple years ago as an adult, after discovering a ton I'd never seen before on eBay. Favorite figure: Puppy in my Pocket #1, Bradley! Growing up had a little red dachshund we loved dearly. I desperately wanted Gamenet, but by the time I got the free offer for him and Viper, it had expired! My sister got me my first pack of Puppy in my Pocket, and he was in it Anything else about yourself: Not much really! I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. My collection can be found here: www.collectorsquest.com/collector/19255/jenna4444AndI really want a dog!

Name/Screenname: Tasha What you collect: Puppy in my pocket, Topps puppies, kitties and wild animals (almost all my Topps are complete, and I just jinxed myself lol) How long you've been collecting: I honestly don't remember how old I was when I received my first set. I know it was instant love, I was hooked. For sure feels like forever, but I know I'll be sad when it ends. Favorite figure: Out of the ones I have, tough.. I think Zerk. He was in one of the first sets, I remember he was the boss of all the others. When I was a kid, I'm not sure if it was because I forgot his name, or didn't like it, I called him Duke. Out of the ones I have yet to get my paws on. The sister of Cambridge and Tarker. No clue what her name is, I have seen her twice, so I know she isn't some puppy urban myth. Anything else about yourself: Well I will admit, I'm not too exciting, besides collecting its the usual stuff. Hanging out with friends and snuggling with the corgi, occasionally if there is room my boyfriend

Name/Screenname: Sarafina What you collect: G1 Littlest Pet Shop...I have a collection of G1 & G3 My Little Pony as well, though I'm not actively collecting them anymore. And I have a small bin of IMP goodies as well, of course! How long you've been collecting: I collected Puppy & Kitty In My Pocket when they first came out in the 90s, but I no longer actively collect. I do love the memories they bring back, though! Favorite figure: Hmm...I'll have to think about this one! Anything else about yourself: I'm a farmer & an artist. I'm learning beekeeping at the moment and am hoping to learn more about illustration this year, as I've been really inspired by vintage fairy tale illustrations lately. Thanks so much for having me here! Although I don't actively collect IMP, I loved them as a kid and am looking forward to reading more about them here.

Name/Screen name: saradavo What you collect: puppy in my pocket, kitty in my pocket and recently pony in my pocket and baby surprise animals in my pocket as well as littlest pet shop How long you've been collecting: since 1994 when they were released in Australia. I was 6 at the time and have loved them ever since! Like jenna4444, I also started re collecting a few years ago to finish my collection and eBay opened my eyes to a whole new world of IMP! I got so confused by it all and had to do so much research to understand it all. There are so many colour variations and the Australian IMP have different names to the uk ones, but I am getting there and only have a few holes to fill now Favorite figure: Bella the rough collie and her pups. I loved this set and today I own my very own tri colour rough collie. Anything else about yourself: I am currently cataloging my collection and will post it when it's complete

Welcome new members! Sarafina, your site and the Kenner LPS forums were definitely an inspiration to make a similar community for IMP Sara, I peeked at your FB profile (didn't creep, I promise!) and saw a picture of your collie. Gorgeous! And I'm curious about IMP in Australia, do they have the same names as American ones, or are they different again?

Jenna - yep Australian names are the same as the US ones. I find it so hard to find cards though for the Aussie/American ones, they all seem to be UK. I am in two minds as to if I should collect both, just to give me something else to collect :-) And yep, that photo of the collie on my Facebook is Lilly, my collie. I am so happy there is so many collies in the IMP collection to collect, I get excited every time I find another one. I recently got Amy, the collie mum and was so happy to finally find her, now I only need her other colour, the sable one.

Hi! Welcome!! So pleased to have you both here! Sarafina thats a brave activity! Keeper of the bee's. What made you curious to start exploring that?? Saradavo, The names are the same as ours, but do some of the color variations come from Australia? Haha I honestly don't feel too brave with the bees yet, but I'm working on it! I love honey and make a lot of products with beeswax (lotion bars, lip balm, etc.), and I find beekeeping to be so fascinating...they have such an amazingly intricate little society and can really be quite sweet. We live on a farm and currently have other beekeepers set up their hives here, but I'd like to get my own hives down the road. I'm shadowing a couple of veteran beekeepers, so that has made all the difference in the experience. Jenna - I'm really just thrilled to see you getting this community going! IMP has been desperately in need of one for awhile! Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

Sarafina- I just read your response at the MLP area. I figured I'd respond to you here just because I hate to continue a conversation on a thread someone started asking for help. I would feel bad if she opened it expecting all these replies, and all she got was me gushing over your site, which is exactly what I am about to do! Your site is so amazing! Did you have most while growing up? I can't believe the amount of passion you put into making it. I mean right down to being able to print backgrounds, knowing the type of paper, to keep it looking as genuine as one can. I also love that you have the color variations! I am such a fan of all the unique variations that other kids had. My fav is the marching mice or the hurrying hamsters! The black and white mice and the brindle hamsters make me melt! I think I'm also in love with the monkey's I wish I had them when I was little. Which ones are your favorites ? Do you still collect them or do you have everything that was made? As for those bees, yes I think you are super brave. I see one and I dash in the opposite direction. Sometimes behind the screen door I watch them in the flowers. I think the chubby ones are kinda cute.( I love chubby animals) I heard that you can hypnotize them, is that true?

Aw thanks so much, Tasha - that's so lovely to hear! Yep, the majority of my collection is from my childhood (my childhood collection pictures are here and some relatively recent collection pictures are here). I've mostly acquired a lot of boxes & MOC sets in adulthood, as well as a few prototypes. I ADORE the mice and the hamsters - they have always been some of my favorites! (The brown hamsters were my first LPS set). My absolute favorites, though, are the Country Fun Pets - particularly the Country Garden Nursery and the Newborn Families (both the '95 and '96 ones). They are soooo sweet and whimsical, and it just breaks my heart to think that the line was discontinued just as these adorable sets were rolling out! I do still collect LPS, though not very actively, as I often just don't want to spend the money on them anymore. I'm missing a handful of sets, some of which are super rare and expensive, so I'm pretty much resigned to not having them all. There are also a few LPS collections that I don't collect - the Shimmering Mer Pets, etc. - since they just aren't my taste. I do LOVE the chubby bees as well! Bumblebees are my favorites! I've thought about keeping some, though I wouldn't be able to harvest honey from them - but they are wonderful little pollinators. We're just keeping Italian honeybees at the moment, and they're really very calm and sweet. I'm not sure about hypnotizing them, but you can stun them a bit by using a smoker when you inspect the hives. The smoke confuses their sense of direction a bit, and some folks think that it makes the bees assume that there's a forest fire going on - this causes them to head to their honey stores and start drinking honey up in preparation, in case they need to evacuate! It allows us to go in without them buzzing around curiously. We did have one hive that became quite aggressive and violent, but we installed a new queen, and that has changed everything. Bees only live for around 6 weeks, and all of their genetic material comes from the queen, so we were able to completely change the genetics of the hive by just making that one change. It's so amazing! Also, they do adorable little dances to communicate to each other - i.e., to tell other bees where some delicious nectar is hiding out! They waggle their bottoms and dance around in a figure-8, and the dance changes to indicate the direction of the sun, the distance of the flowers, etc.

Name/Screenname: eddeenpops What you collect: Puppy, Pony, Kitty, Bunny, Teddy, Baby Surprise and topps Puppies, Kitties, Wild Animals and Piggies if I can find them . I also collect vintage littlest pet shop and help my daughter collect G1 MLP but have kinda taken a break from them at the moment. How long you've been collecting: Since they came out in the 90s had a break for a while and have recently started to collect the rest to finish my collection hopefully Favorite figure: Too many they are all cute I think that's what made me start to collect in the first place . Anything else about yourself: I live in the UK and it is great to find and meet other in my pocket collectors . It is getting more difficult to find some of the bits I need as they are possibly the harder to find bits and a lot of the leaflets etc probably get thrown away, lost or written on .

Welcome Eddeenpops! I'm happy you found this site! I have recently seen a few of the piggies on ebay. Wouldn't mind helping you get them, if the seller doesn't ship to the UK! I know how frustrating that can be. Ps I love the bunnies you are using as your avatar!
Sarafina: I completely agree. the Shimmering Mer Pets not a fan, some of the hair pets and what's with the cartoon ones? What's your thoughts on the newer series?
"so we were able to completely change the genetics of the hive by just making that one change. It's so amazing!" Yes I agree. Queen is mom so by changing her out, you change 50% of genetics of every baby produced from that point on. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. What made you think of that? Until recently I worked as a Research Assistant, making transgenic models. So I'm just so curious as to what would make you think of such a beautiful solution, when most would abandon the hive?

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all! I'm so glad to be here. Name/Screenname: MyPuppiesAndMe (some of you may know me as Eaglefeather on the MLP Arena). What you collect: Puppy, Kitty, Pony, Teddy, and Baby Surprise in my Pocket. I also collect the Topps Precious Puppies, Kitties, Baby Wild Animals, and Piggies and Animal Hospital figures. How long you've been collecting: Ever since I can remember! I was born in the late 90s but I can still remember seeing some of the IMP figures on clearance in a toy store. My older sister though had a set of the Secret Heart kitties and two puppy families which were passed on to me when I was about 9. I instantly became hooked on them and began collecting more through the internet. Favorite figure: Oh boy, so many! Some of my favorite puppies are Magnum the husky (black variant), Harry the pekingese, Zoe the Afghan hound, Shani the boxer, and Jemma the border collie. Anything else about yourself: Right now I'm just a senior in high school! Some of my interests include drawing, collecting (of course!), and reading.
