If anyone is thinking of buying from Kelly30089, I'd be cautious. She's using my photos, and when I asked her to take her own, got a snarky "I've been on eBay longer than you, so too bad" message in response. What a jerk. This has happened to me a couple times now. I don't want to add a watermark to my photos, I just want people to take their own! This was more of a rant than anything. I don't know if there's anything I can do, since my photos aren't copyrighted.

That would make me wonder if the seller either doesn't actually have the items or has them in worse condition than your pictures show. I think taking pictures is the easiest part of trying to sell something.

Why would someone do this?

What Chara said is exactly what came to mind for me, too. The pics she does appear to have taken herself are much worse than yours, so maybe she's just a crummy photographer who doesn't even know how to crop, but I wouldn't buy anything from her anyway. A) She's a lousy person and B) The shipping from UK to US for one tiny figure says $12, rofl. I just ordered four books the other day from the UK, with free shipping. And people on here get reasonable international rates, so that's just ridiculous. So much for being on eBay longer (as if that's got anything to do with taking your own bloody photos? How lazy can ya get?)
It's a shame you can't really do anything about it...except for maybe just messaging eBay and seeing whether they'll request that she use her own images from now on? Even though they can't legally force her...

The funny thing is, I got curious and checked how long each of us have been on eBay. And I've been on a few months longer. But whatever makes you feel better, Kelly!

I see she is using some of mine from your site now as well. Ebay does not care about this sort of thing, I reported it once before they did not even respond. The seller told me to get a life!

Ugh, and she's still at it. Now she's uploaded a bunch of my puppy photos too. If anyone else is up for messaging her and asking her politely to take them down, I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Ugh! It really sucks when lazy people do stuff like this. We had something like this happen on the LPS forum years ago and with several of us bombarding the seller with messages they caved and replaced the photos with their own.
If I were to message her I'm afraid it wouldn't be polite since she's already being a jerk about this. I think I'd threaten to buy a few of her auctions in order to leave her shop negative reviews, therefore damaging her eBay score.

If you leave false negative feedback (claiming poor condition, bad service etc) I'm pretty sure the seller can just request eBay to remove it anyway.
Maybe pose as a potential buyer and say you noticed she's using photos from the Internet, could she please take some of her own so you can see the condition of the actual models? Though you'd probably just get a snarky reply, or none at all...
Probably all you can do is add a watermark to the photos. It doesn't have to be an actual watermark: a small "(c)90sinmypocket.com" near enough to the figure that it can't be cropped out should be enough. I appreciate its a lot of work, though...Maybe also add a notice to the website politely asking people NOT to take your photos and use them as their own, especially on eBay sales. After all, it's not only rude but misleading as well, since the actual figure can and will differ from the one shown.

I just updated my pics of Kitty 14 on my site. She's still using the old ones. Maybe I should let her know so she can steal them for her eBay?
I'll probably just let it go. There's no place on eBay to actually explain the issue, unless you call. Hopefully karma will bite her in the ass and someone will complain.

She just added a bunch more. If you're interested, beware!

Reminder not to buy from this seller.
Unless, of course, you buy from her and then complain that the figure received isn’t the one in the picture. I doubt if I bought #44 that he’d have the same nose scuff that mine has, so it’d be pretty easy to tell she’s a thief. I’d do it but I don’t want to risk paying $14 for shipping! But if any UK members want to try, if reimburse if eBay doesn’t..,

Fingers crossed that I’ve finally, finally gotten eBay to take down my pics. I had to fill out a NOCI form and eBay removed them. She uploaded again, I filled out the form again. This went on several times but so far she seems to have given up. I’m disappointed that eBay didn’t purge her account after being told multiple times to use her own pics, but whatever.
If you see her (or anyone else) using my website pics for selling, let me know! I don’t know why this gets me all fired up, but it does!

Nevermind, they're back up. Ebay officially doesn't care about members following the rules.

I see they used them again, she used my pictures too, Ebay do not worry about such things it seems, I just can't see that what you buy from her may not actually match the photo, is that not fraud?
