Let's just say you come across some dogs/cats new in package! Would you be tempted to open them or leave it as it.
I would probably leave it but also so hard not to open them and add them to the rest of my collection

I'd open them if they were going into my own collection. I guess I'm not too precious about packaging, haha. But to be honest, I probably wouldn't buy anything mint in package, because I know that I'd buy it to open it. I'd rather leave it for someone who cares about packaging. If I bought anything in package, I'd probably get one that had messed up packaging. Then I wouldn't be taking anything away from someone who wanted it.

I've bought and opened quite a few things still in package. I'm okay with it! I don't really like to buy NIP stuff though, mostly because I don't really like throwing away the packaging, but don't want to keep it either.

Opening old stuff literally gives me anxiety lol. I feel like if I ever ended up with NIP stuff for items that I wanted for my collection, I would hold onto it as is until I could find an opened version, and then sell the packaged one once I had them.
But in the end its just paper and plastic, and what people do with things they own is their own business.

I don't normally buy things in packagea as they are way to expensive. But I have the Long john Silver cats all new in their bags and I am so tempted to open them.
But I don't know if it is better to keep them in bad as it is rare to find all 6 still in bags

I say if you want to open them, go for it! The biggest collectors (I'm assuming!) are all here and I don't think any of us would object.

I agree with Jenna. They are your kitties, and you should open them if you want to!

I will see what my heart tell me to do when they get here haha.
Should arrive in the mail any day now!!!
I actually think most of them are pretty weird looking except for Milky. But lots of the regular kittys are weird looking anyways

Agree with the others; I'd say go for it and open' em. They were meant to be, anyway. ^^ The LJS kitties are a little interesting and do stand out. But I like the bold colors. Fantasy is my favorite due to his bright redness combined with the yellow pillow. Unfortunately my set came with two of him and no Milky (who ironically is not the one with the milk bowls...speaking of Orient, I also got two of him...and he's the only one without a bed...heh.)

I’ve opened a nearly-MIP pony family (bought from Jenna, who had carefully extracted the cards). I had no guilt about opening it and honestly it was really fun to open new IMPs again after all these years! That said, I don’t think I’d do it to a perfectly MIP set, and I don’t seek out sealed packages because I want the figures loose and it’d be too tempting. I think I’ve picked up a lot of cautious feelings about MIP vintage toys from being in the My Little Pony community, but as other people have said, this is a tiny and easy-going collecting community and everyone should feel free to do what they like!

The My little pony community is pretty insane. I have sold a few here and there and people are so serious about them.
Love this community as everyone is so chill

I have opened many, especially for rare cards, I do still have a selection of unopened ones, sadly people charge more for them thinking they are worth more bad sadly we need to buy them sometimes to get those elusive cards!
