^u^ My family and I have always been animal people and had all kinds of pets--except cats. The rest of them just aren't fans of animals who walk along the countertops, furniture, and shelves, and have litter boxes. >_> But thankfully I'm a dog lover first and foremost, and we've never had fewer than two of those at a time. Heeheehee, everyone adores Jacko...he's a playful little nut, an eternal puppy. For weeks when we first got him, Ulla refused to go anywhere near him (she's always temperamental with newcomers like that), but now she's like his aunt or something. They like to bother each other, and she often finds him annoying, but ultimately they're besties. I was trying to photograph her in some Hawaiian accessories, and he kept totally photobombing, posing against the washer and all. (A lot of our pictures end up being in that room because that's where the treats are kept...so it's a favored spot. ;p) Awww, Jenna, your parents' dog looks so cute. Love his little white paws. It's sad that animal-friendly buildings have higher rent! I did have a hamster, named after my first-grade teacher, Mrs. White. :3 I'll never forget how my parents told me that one night she seemed sick, so they took her outside for "fresh air," and she apparently escaped to go live under our shed with the rabbits. I can't believe I actually fell for that. ;; Your little ones are precious, Sabrina. Fishes have always been my second-favorite animals, though...soon as I get a new place, I have great ideas for new aquaria. I find them so beautiful and mesmerizing, and some are as easy to bond with as just about any other animal. I miss every fishy we ever had. ;;

Woah, cuties everywhere! <3 And Sugar is such a beautie! I have also some fishes here, but more taking care of them because my father got ill last year and couldn't handle it anymore. They're so interesting, but I prefer animals with hair or feathers. @jenna: Sorry to hear that you don't find anything. At least in Germany, you're allowed in almost every apartment to have tiny pets like birds, fishes or hamsters. No one can disaggree with that. But it's more difficult with dogs and cats, too.

Clover, Ziggy is a male but certainly acts like he's a girl. And thank you ;; rats make awesome pets, Sasha is very loving and such a daredevil. She isn't afraid to jump distances that she can't actually make and she loves to play "attack hand" where you chase her and tickle her bum which makes her run around the bed like crazy and dart back to grab your hand/fingers and box them.
And you are right Jenna, my mother used to have a rottie girl when I was little but she re-homed it when her boyfriend at the time kept hitting it (I know who I would of "re-homed") and she was the sweetest thing ever. When I moved into my own place and decided on a dog, I got him. I DO want another one eventually to name after her but not till we've moved south.

Omg!! So jealous! We used to have a rat! Her name was Kleo. Awe I miss her so much, esp after looking at your pictures. They really are such funny characters. Kleo was a hoot, she used to shower with my sister. Sis would come out of the bathroom, Kleo would scamper after her. Trav and I would cat call her, then my sister made her a lil towel!! Lmao. Really smart too! Sis taught her to give kisses. Your pup is adorable too! Awesome name!

Oops, haha--dunno where I got the idea that he was a girl! Sorry, Zigs! xD But oooohhhh, rats sound like such extremely delightful little friends. :33 I've had mice and hamsters, but they pretty much just lived in their habitrail homes. I never showered with them, lol--but wish I could've! And wow, there's no question whom I would have "re-homed" in that situation, too, Glitter. It should be cute to get Ziggy a little girlfriend, though.

Ooooh I love rats! Kleo sounds adorable. Sasha is so beautiful and Reggie is huge XD
I had two hooded rats when I was in elementary school- Gingerale and Pepsi-cola, or Ginger and Pepsi for short. No one at the pet shop bought them, so they were adults by the time we got them. All the staff felt bad for them so they were handled daily and thus so friendly.
In my childhood naivety, Id occasionally introduce my rats and fancy mice to each other. Of course now I realize what a bad idea that was, but luckily they used to just clean the mice- such sweethearts. which was good because my one mouse was an escape artist -_-'
They were hilarious together- opposites. Ginger was always making the nest, moving the food from the dish to the hut- more reserved. All Pepsi did was run around and wait for you to bring her out haha. Pepsi liked to ride on the shoulder, while Ginger preferred a pocket. So silly. Ahh I miss them.

I don't have many pictures unfortunately (and those I do are scattered throughout albums), but I had lots of small non-dog/non-fish pets growing up, including three mice. One was a white middle-school science class pet we named Sucrose, another a dark brown I dubbed Petruccio. Oftentimes at the end of a semester or school year I'd volunteer to adopt a class pet, which is how I wound up with one of my plecos, and Sucrose. She & Petruchy were sweet little guys (as was befitting of her name!), but my third mouse, Ben, never took to the domestic life. He somehow managed to escape his house once, chew off half the fringes on an area rug, and then escape a second time, never to be seen again. Possibly somebody had failed to secure the door properly that time, though. =\ Gingerale & Pepsi-cola are the cuuuutest couple of names for mice!! ^w^ They sound like a great pair.

Lol I also had mice and I miss them so much! Although they were all males so.. I don't miss the smell! I sorta adopted a mouse at work, because he was born without an arm.. They obviously couldn't use him. So he was the room mascot. His name was Armstrong and I loved him so much.
