I'm interested to know if anyone here ever collected My Beautiful Horses? MBH were around at the same time as IMP, and the moulds were used alongside IMP moulds for the early Animal Hospital toys. MBH were larger than IMP and had long brushable manes and tails. The moulds are currently being used in the I Love Ponies series of toys. As a young child I adored these horses. I had a subscription to the magazine and every month a new magazine would arrive with a plastic baggie on the front containing a new pony for my stables. It was so exciting! Then all of a sudden they stopped, and my subscription ran out with a new magazine geared towards older readers who had real horses, and there was no free pony with each issue. I was so disappointed. Because of the nostalgia and my own sentimentality, I haven't been able to get rid of my MBHs (though I did trade a few when I was younger...). If you'd like to see my magre collection I've made an album for them in my Flickr. So, did anyone else here collect/play with MBH as a child?

Beth, I don't even remember seeing them as a kid! I assure you if I did. I would have wanted them all!

I didn't, as I don't think we had them here, but my friend growing up did. She visited England constantly, and she would buy the magazines while there.
She gave me a pony that came with a magazine before- I have a feeling it must have been My Beautiful Horses, but I can't seem to find a picture resembling it anywhere... It was an all chestnut horse, and if memory serves, it's name was Flare... At least, that's what I called it ahaha.
I was always very envious of England as a child. She'd bring home cooler toys, more IMPs that I hadn't seen. I bet she had Hildy too. She had every puppy !! XD

It sounds like they were probably more widely available in Europe. Sorsha: Sounds like it might have been Flame the Akhal Teke? She was one of my favourites, so why I traded her with my friend I have no idea!!

My pleasure Unfortunately now that I'm talking about them again I'm terribly tempted to buy some more to add to my collection... ^^; Ugh. I know I shouldn't...

Actually, I don't think I'd heard of them before...but they're reeeeally cute. They remind me of Breyers (but with doll rather than molded hair), and other such realistic horse figures that I'd see in toy catalogs. Of course, I always had way more dogs than anything else, but being a general animal lover, I did eventually decide to diversify and branch out into equines...I bought an encyclopedia of horse breeds (the Akhal Teke is actually my favorite!), and requested a couple of stable playsets for Christmas. My Barbie one was especially awesome.

I started to collect these again recently and I only need another 1 or 2 to complete my collection. IMP was out first and then these came out about 1996. I've still got a few of the magazine including the first one.

This thread hasn't been updated in years, but I just got some MBH cards (like IMP cards) that I don't need. If anyone still collects them, let me know!

Jenna, if no one is interested on here, find the Grand Champion Exchange group on Facebook. There's people there who would likely be interested.
