Hey so...I reached out to the M.E.G. people through their website asking questions about how many pockets were created overall, what parts of the world they sold best in, why we are sometimes seeing random prototypes and all that jazz. It took a few months of not hearing anything but I finally got a response. The first email I got just suggested that I reach out to the person who made "90sinmypocket.com" because they have a lot of info. I laughed, told them that I was trying to figure out a lot of information TO SHARE with this forum because there are still some questions surrounding those topics. Firstly - shout out to you fo sho for all your hard work
The lady got back to me again, and I received this awesome piece of news:
"Hi Tiffany,
Wish I could help you with more detailed information on specifics like this, but our company is very small right now—It’s just Joe Morrison, MEG founder and CEO, and me. Joe is the only one who was there at the start and created the In My Pocket brands, but he is more of a big-picture guy and it was so long ago he wouldn’t remember specific details like this, if he even knew them :-).
Just so you understand, we use distributors in various countries to sell our products to retailers, so there might be products that were only bought and distributed in Canada, just like there were similar instances for the UK, Italy and other countries. It all depended on what they thought would sell at retail in their markets. For example: Moms & Babies did great in the UK, but that item might not have been purchased for stores in the US, even though we offered as part of the overall product line.
I have been with the company since 2004 so I could maybe share info on the relaunch of the brand since the 90’s, but it has a different look and names than the original line. FYI, we are planning to relaunch Puppy In My Pocket again in early 2024 after marking it’s 30 year anniversary, so stay tuned.
Thank you for being such a loyal fan and for telling us that our products changed your lives for the better :-). I see that you have a degree in Psychology and we always strive to make our products address important emotional aspects for kids—nurturing, sharing, caring, imagination…Our puppies all have names and stories that are intended to make them sound more “real” for kids, just like their fuzzy coats of today’s iteration makes them feel realistic and separates them from other competitive brands. Sounds like Puppy In My Pocket struck a chord with you when you were a kid and we hope that continues for today’s children.
Happy Holidays!"

I have asked her to stay in touch and she plans on reaching out to you when they do a relaunch in 2024 to get you (and I presume others that use this site like myself) to write up some stories about how the pockets have affected our lives and use them for their social media!!
This is beyond amazing news, and I couldn't wait to share it with you!!
