Does anyone remember these toys?? Here are mine: www.flickr.com/photos/131743106@N03/sets/72157651327321155/As a kid, both me and my friend collected and played with them. I just kind of assumed they were this loved everywhere/by everyone. However now that I look online, I see they are a lot more uncommon than I thought! Also there is barely any information on them that I can find. I'd love to gauge the response of everyone- have you heard of them, or have any of them? I do see them scattered in IMP lots occasionally.

YES. But I've only heard of them once. When I was perusing the links on the Vintage LPS site that led me here, I found them on RonsRescuedTreasures.com. At first they made me think of "The Dog" photography series, with the magnified muzzles/noses and heads. Then they impressed me because they seemed to favor rare and highly unusual breeds: Bedlington Terrier (one of my favorites), Chinese Crested (another), a wheaten Scottie, Smooth Fox Terrier, Pumi, PBGV, Komondor...plus the Poodles & Beagles I would totally have wanted. I figured it had to be pretty obscure if it's a dog line I wasn't familiar with, lol. Which is a shame, as they're really cute. Wish I'd ever seen them.

Yayy! Yes they've always reminded me of The Dog photos I agree, the breed choices were really intriguing to me as a kid! I didn't know what half of them were XD I don't know why they became so obscure... I used to buy them all the time with my Mom at Walmart Right on the end cap display. It's baffling to me. I'm going to build up my collection I think. Before they're "extinct" XD

I have no idea how they decided on which breeds to use--I guess the designers were either big fans of those rare ones, or just picked randomly from a book or something! xD
Wow, Walmart? Gee, and I'd always been a pretty frequent shopper there. :/ Can't believe I'd never heard of them before, and now they're so unknown. Building your collection sounds like a wise idea, then...they may become pretty valuable the rarer they get. Unfortunately it seems as though lots of the stuff on that site I mentioned is listed as "out of stock." You have to click on items individually, though, so some of the Snubbies may be available.

I immediately thought of The Dog: Artlist Collection when I saw them! If they're not affiliated with them, they must at leats be inspired by them.
I'd never heard of Snubbies before, which made me want to find out more, so I went online and found this

I too would assume that they were inspired by the famous photos. Wow...what an ad. "They all have pedigrees, you see; I don't collect any mutts" (whoa, doggie discrimination?)..."They got those snubby heads and funny ears and cute little...tails!" xD; I'm surprised at how many there were, although the commercial is older & looks too grainy for me to make them all out. Found a few other related videos; this one is a slideshow of the puppies, kitties, and accessories: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OM-BOSLvAAAnd an ad for the Snubbies mansion: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J9wBsLqlY4

I've never heard of them, but they look so cute. I don't think I'll try and collect them, I'm already fighting the urge to buy all the Animals of Farthing Wood Figures that were released, add all the IMP figures to my wishlist rather than the ones I remember from my childhood, and start a vintage LPS collection.

They are so cute. I've discovered so many more than I ever knew existed!! I have completed the whole first series of the puppies, 30 in all. That's the only info I managed to find on them though... They promised a second and third line, which would be about 30 more puppies each! I see a lot of figures I don't recognize... I wish I could know their names and such.
It's still very odd to me how short-lived they were... Potential choking hazard could have posed some issues lol Check the size comparisons on my flickr. Tiiiiiny.

Holy wow, I hadn't even noticed that pic...they are way tinier than I thought, if they're that much smaller than IMPs, who are very small to begin with!! I do wish there were a reference site for them the way there are for most toy lines. :[

Why don't you guys get together and make one with the information you've got so far? That's how 90sinmypocket started You could also post on other toy based forums to see if more people have any info for you to add.

They did Saluki & Afghan Snubbies on top of all those other breeds...?!?! Do I actually see a Podenco Canario, Fila Brasileiro, Basset Artesian Normand, and others that would make most kids ask, "What the hay is that?" Wild! n_n And okay, so, that Deseo site...wow...I started casually browsing some of the other categories, and my mind was immediately blown when I began spotting random dog figures I had, and remember extremely well, but never was able to find because I had no idea what brand/name they'd been released under (or there just didn't seem to be anyplace showing them)...so of course I had to go through the whole thing. Oh, my. I went crazy pinning pictures of all the ones I had, or still have, or love most. They even show the PiMPs, and many G2s. 8-0 I am mighty impressed; that is another fantastic resource. I still can't believe some of the figures I saw on there. Thanks for sharing.
